New Directions

This post is unfortunately not a Glee reference, but the title fits and I love that it makes me think of Glee!

The last few days I've looked over the most recent several posts I've done. Why has anyone told me I've been a whining, complaining ball of meh? I realized I need to inject more positivity into this blog and my life as well. What I'd like to do I need help with as I'm not super good at this whole blog/website layout stuff.

I want to add link buttons/menu bar at the top of the page below the title banner. Make a few subpages. I see lots of blogs that have these and I have no clue how to put them on mine. Anyone that knows how or can point me in the right direction, I'd be eternally grateful!

I'd like to make a page that just has our TTC time line summed up for easy access for new readers and quick ref for others. I also want to make one where I have to put at least 1 positive, inspirational, or happy thought or action each and every day. I know I could just keep a journal for that, but I think the fact of putting it out where others can access it will not only make me feel more accountable for posting them, but maybe they will also help others who need a little glimmer of hope and happiness as well.

So those are the new directions I want to head in, but need some help getting there.

ps. 13dpo today. Waiting and seeing.

  1. I'm not a blogger user, so I can't point you in the direction of upgrades, but a) yes, I've been trying to keep a happy journal on my blog as well (I need to pick it up again) and b) fingers crossed for dpo13!

  2. Oh my goodness, I have been thinking of doing exactly the same thing! I need to figure out a way to find this joy my mother keeps preaching. (Partially inspired by Elphaba who I see has commented above.)

OK, so here's how I think you do it. When you are in the Posting tab, there are three choices, one of which is Edit Pages. If you pick that, you can add a new page. After you do that, if you go to the Design tab, you can add a gadget to one of the boxes. There is one called Pages. I believe this adds the tabs to the top of your blog page for all the different pages you have created.

Good luck with your happy journal. And good luck with the waiting!

  3. Ok here you go.

Go into blogger and click on posting. Then 'Edit Pages' next click 'New Page' (in the same way you'd do new post.

    Write your thang.

And then you get a choice of how to link it. And you can choose tabs at the top of your blog.

    Enjoy!

  4. I definitely encourage you to try to have some more positivity, but this blog is for you. I use my blog as a way to get out my emotions related to infertility, and so it tends to be a little negative. But it helps me, and so it does exactly what I need it to do!

Enjoy updating your blog! I'm no help - have no idea on how to do any of it other than a plain boring post...

  5. I found your blog through Jen's post - and like her have also been thinking of finding a way to focus on the positives in my life. It's so depressing how IF just seems to suck the happiness right out of things.
